As a composer deeply immersed in the world of musical notation, I have always had a passion for creating scores. Ever since I was 16, I have been collecting rare sheet music, and by the age of 17, I dreamt of having my own publishing house. Finally, at the age of 38, that dream has become a reality. After two years of meticulous planning, preparation, and production, along with countless interactions with foundations dedicated to forgotten composers, pianists, musicologists, and librarians, and nearly a year of trial with a web store featuring just four products, I am thrilled to announce that the moment has arrived.
In the first half of September, Felix Editions will go live, offering an impressive collection of 15 publications, comprising both albums and individual works, which can be shipped to music enthusiasts around the world. Our catalogue includes compositions by 'known unknowns' such as Henselt and Schumann-Wieck, but also composers whose names may be familiar, but whose piano music has been largely forgotten. Additionally, we proudly present works by entirely obscure masters like De Hartog or Woelfl, whose fine talents deserve to be rediscovered.
Before our official launch, we are fine-tuning the final details. Yet, we couldn't wait to share the exciting news with you. In the meantime, you can still explore and purchase our current "old" assortment, featuring four albums with music by Henselt, Czerny, Wolff, and Litolff. These albums will be retired at launch and exchanged for newer versions.
