Newzik

Newzik is a programme for managing music collections. You can store and listen to music tracks in it. It is ideal for tablet or smartphone playback. The music is stored securely in the cloud and is available on all devices.

Is Newzik free?

Yes, there is a free version available. This has the limit of storing a maximum of 15 pieces or albums. Pieces purchased through Felix Editions will come into Newzik's Inbox, where they can be deleted from the library and added again and again. The purchases will remain in your inbox to add when needed.

What are the advantages of Newzik?

• Music is stored in the cloud and always available there.
• Playing via a tablet offers great user convenience. It is possible to connect accessories to Newzik so that pages can be turned with a foot pedal.
• The music can be listened to. Unknown music can be heard in advance to hear how it should approximately sound.
• A purchase via Newzik is cheaper than a PDF.

What are the disadvantages of Newzik?

• The music is intended for use on an electronic device. It is not possible to print the music.
• The library of the free version of Newzik has a limit of 15 pieces. But if it is full, existing pieces can be deleted. These can always be added back afterwards from the inbox. Purchases are not lost that way. Moreover, an album with 10 pieces still counts as 1 piece towards the limit.
• There is a processing time of a few hours before the download is added to Newzik.

What is a PDF?

A PDF is a file that looks the same on any computer. It is a digital printout. It can be used at the user's discretion, for example on a tablet or by printing.

What are the advantages of a PDF?

• The file can be downloaded immediately after purchase.
• The file can be used in any programme that can read PDFs. These can be special programmes for managing music collections, such as Newzik or forScore, but also other programmes.
• The file can be printed.
• The file can be saved locally.

Is a PDF copy-protected?

• PDFs are not technically copy-protected. In principle, the file can be done with whatever the customer wants to do with it. However, you may only use the PDF for your personal use. It is not allowed to send the PDF to your pupils or friends.
• Sadly, our PDFs do have social security. Each PDF contains visible and invisible features that ensure that we can trace the original order in case of misuse. This is unfortunately neccesary. However, a normal user is not affected by this.

What are the disadvantages of a watermarked PDF?

• A watermarked PDF is available for download for 72 hours after purchase.
• A watermarked PDF does not come with an audio recording.
• A watermarked PDF is slightly more expensive than downloading via Newzik.

How does purchasing a download work?

• This differs between Newzik and a PDF. When a PDF is purchased, a download link appears in the order confirmation, both in the web browser and in the mail. Moreover, the PDF is ready for download in each user's account.
• Those who make a purchase through Newzik we will send the score to the account associated with the e-mail address used for the order. It will be added to the users Inbox. This might take up to 1 day, but is usually (much) quicker. If no account is found, the user will receive an e-mail with instructions. Once an account is in place, we will manually add the score to the Newzik account. As this is a manual process, it may take up to 1 day for the score to appear in Newzik.
